using webmention for this (this being a stream of posts from multiple sources) seems forced - as it's more of a syndication target
[kevinmarks] joined the channel
#
[kevinmarks]
The rounded versions definitely look better
#
[kevinmarks]
I'll leave the proportions to you - there is a 2:1 thing in the other letters
#
kylewm
people that upload pngs inside svgs to svgur --
#
aaronpk
they probably think it converts it to an svg
#
kylewm
I think they are just smartasses

[kylewm] joined the channel
#
aaronpk
I like the block version, but am not a big fan of the proportion of the outlined version
#
[kylewm]
That reads as a tennis ball to me
#
aaronpk
huh I did not get that
#
aaronpk
are the thin parts of each letter the same width in the block version? should they be?
#
aaronpk
oh I see what you did, you made the left part of the inner curve match a concentric circle of the outer curve
#
aaronpk
actually no it's ever so slightly different
#
[shaners]
I’m confused.
#
aaronpk
this is hard to describe in words
#
[shaners]
If I’m off on some measurements by a couple few pixels, I can futz them around. That’s not a problem.
#
[shaners]
Yeah. I see what youre saying.
[aaronpk] joined the channel
#
[aaronpk]
i'm thinking the pink widths should all match, and the same with the green
#
[shaners]
Thanks for illustrating that
#
[kylewm]
If I could have made the which arc the same width as the top and bottom gaps, I kind of like how that looks
#
[kylewm]
white arc*
#
[shaners]
why that curve, Kyle?
#
[kylewm]
because it mirrors the outer curve
#
[kylewm]
like one half of the mastercard logo :stuck_out_tongue:
#
[shaners]
Why that corner?
#
[kylewm]
which corner?
#
[shaners]
That you made by intersecting the outer curve and the horizontal
#
[shaners]
Kyle o_O Have you added yourself to /irc-people?
#
[kylewm]
yes... but I don't have icon in Slack
#

#

the rounded cutout really stands out to me now, and I can't tell if it's because it's different or because it's actually jarring for some reason
#

with the first two letters having a single line (the seperator between the "dot" of the i and the slash of the w) I feel that the C should be just a short line

I like the lower left one with the rounded end there
#
[kevinmarks]
It's going to be pacman when yellow
#
[kevinmarks]
(which is not a bad thing)
#
bear
the lower left is my fav of that last batch also
#
[kevinmarks]
For the square could you push the W up and kern the others in under it?
#
[kevinmarks]
I think the rounded cutout in the "tennis ball" one stands out because the other 2 have a thick/thin thing going on
wolftune joined the channel
#
[kevinmarks]
So if you moved it right so that the C had a thick/thin feel too it would also work
#
[kevinmarks]
And thank you shaners for putting up with us pulling out the rulers for this

[shaners]
Kevinmarks im not even thinking about the square version yet.

one thing about going through these lists, doesn't necessarily give you someone's feed.... that can take a bit of looking around.
#
KartikPrabhu
that is what a /reader would do too
#
mblaney
KartikPrabhu what would a reader do?
#
mblaney
yes I'm doing that. for people who publish rss or atom, feed discovery is working.
#
mblaney
but I'm talking about home pages that don't have h-feed or h-entry
#
mblaney
people often have a link to it but would be nice if there's a programmatic way to find it I guess.
#
KartikPrabhu
of course there is: look for rel=feed
#
KartikPrabhu
if feed links are not marked up in anyway you can't find them pf course
#
mblaney
I think you just made that up...
#
KartikPrabhu
rel=feed is a thing
#
mblaney
where am I looking? :-)
#
KartikPrabhu

#
mblaney
ok you win because you support it :-)
#

I couldn't find any reference to is on the wiki or on the microformats wiki though.
