aaronpk: what do you think about that https://github.com/aaronpk/mention-client/pull/3 ???
#
bret
i have not seen him for a while, I think he's busy with stuff
#
pfefferle
ah ok, thanks bret

#
cweiske
pfefferle, you should htmlspecialchar() the values
#
pfefferle
ah thanks
#
cweiske
now let's hope that $method has no special chars in it :)
#
pfefferle
damn :)

@fdevillamil
@ookook Pavatar is totally in the philosophy of the #indieweb so we should support it. I’ll just struggle a little bit more with the plugin
#
aaronpk
good morning!
#
aaronpk
who wants to write "this week in the IndieWeb" so I don't have to scroll through a week of IRC logs? :)
#
pfefferle
good morning
#
aaronpk
san diego network speeds are ridiculously slow. it's been hard to be online at all, feels like I'm being choked when I try
#
hupili
morning~ It's night here now~
#
erikmaarten
aaronpk: scrolling through these IRC logs takes quite a while, quite a lot of conversation here once in a while. I guess in a near future one might just have a quick look at notes and articles tagged with indieweb or so for an overview ...
#
barnabywalters
either that or we need to get even better and documenting our discussions on the wiki
#
erikmaarten
hupili: same here, it's kind of confusing which greetings to use :)
#
tantek
good morning :)
#
barnabywalters
aaronpk: looks like Loqi’s not here, and todays logs are a bit short
#
tantek
(use the greeting local to you, thus communicating to others your sense of time during the day)
#
erikmaarten
barnabywalters: yes, but it's easy to get a feeling of what's been happening recently by checking the recent changes on the wiki
#
erikmaarten
well, it's still the best way, I guess

Pavatar is bad tech. needless reinvention.
#
barnabywalters
hupili: just saw your page, are you still having webmention issues? I’d be happy to help you test
#
aaronpk
erikmaarten: hupili: it's always "Good morning (UGT)" http://www.total-knowledge.com/~ilya/mips/ugt.html
#
Loqi
barnabywalters: sandeepshetty left you a message on 7/11 at 11:07am: https://github.com/webignition/absolute-url-deriver/issues/2
#
aaronpk
welcome back loqi
#
Loqi
who, me?
#
Loqi
barnabywalters: sandeepshetty left you a message on 7/11 at 3:13pm: See the comment I added to that issue. It looks like "1.3.*@stable" is resulting in composer downloading 1.3 of webignition/absolute-url-deriver instead of the latest version which is 1.3.4.
#
tantek
wow that was old
#
aaronpk
looks liek he got caught in a netsplit
#
erikmaarten
I mean, it's easy to check the recent changes, but I they're in such a flurry, though I guess only watching for the big changes might be a good strategy
#
erikmaarten
character count is probably a good clue, haven't actually thought much about that before :)
#
tantek
and I'm off for a run. ttyl indieweb folks!
#
erikmaarten
aaronpk: haha, that's a nice solution!
#
aaronpk
irc logs filled from my buffer. thx for noticing barnabywalters
#
barnabywalters
aaronpk: ah cool, thanks
#
aaronpk
bye for now!
#
tantek
aaronpk, re: who wants to write "this week in the IndieWeb", barnabywalters nailed it: we need to get even better and documenting our discussions on the wiki
#
tantek
I feel like it is fine to just skim IRC logs. if something was important someone would have captured it on the wiki.
#
tantek
if no one took the time to capture it on the wiki, then it's likely ok to have missed it.
#
tantek
now actually leaving :)

hupili: what's the incentive for people to adopt the SNSAPI if they can get all feeds they want anyway using RSS (or even better: microformats)?
#
hupili
erikmaarten: I think we will insert more meta info later so that you can find the original posts after several level of forwarding
#
hupili
I think the function is quite similar to microformats. I just learned this one these days.
#
erikmaarten
I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean by levels of forwarding, but ... oh, you just said it
#
erikmaarten
Yeah, I was thinking that too
#
erikmaarten
and I'm guessing microformats may be a simpler solution
#
hupili
Yes, I think microformats is better in terms of supporting web based status and replies.
#
hupili
The current benefit of SNSAPI may be the other side. That is to scriptably bridge existing platforms.
#
barnabywalters
hupili: what do you mean by bridge?
#
hupili
My use case is quite diverse. I go to different silos regularly and use SNSAPI to sync between them. At the same time, I also have those information stored in a unified format locally
#
barnabywalters
hupili: sounds like a mixture of POSSE and PESOS — you speak in the present tense, is there working code you’re using personally?
#
hupili
this 'hook_new_message' piece is the logic to collect all my statuses on those SNS
#
hupili
you can write more complex logic there
#
barnabywalters
hupili: so you’re pulling in content you’ve created on other silos?
#
barnabywalters
and republishing it on your own site?
#
hupili
yeah, this is the example that is briding things in one way.
#
hupili
I'm also update my status via the CLI of my middleware so that it automatically go to all my SNS
#
barnabywalters
great, you’ve implemented both POSSE and PESOS! can you log onto the wiki and add your implementation w/ example URLs to http://indiewebcamp.com/PESOS and http://indiewebcamp.com/POSSE?
#
barnabywalters
just realised there is no implementation list for PESOS
#
hupili
barnabywalters: sure, I'm planning. Because I just found this great camp, I'm trying to checkout what are the existing works. Still a lot to learn
#
erikmaarten
I'd like to know, too
#
hupili
I'll come back and write more. It's sleeping time now~

how do you sync? If you'd post something on Weibo, you might then for example sync it to automatically to Twitter, for example?

@zakkain
@wesleypennock I don't want to blog anywhere except on my own site anymore. Part of my slow transition towards #indieweb
