so, having at least one indieauth provider being a non-commercial organisation seems like a good thing. I trust non-profits like OSM Foundation and Wikimedia much more than I do venture-backed startups.
#
aaronpk
thanks tantek
#
tantek
sure, though GOOG and YHOO are at least publicly traded OAuth providers.
#
aaronpk
the indieauth site uses OmniAuth, so any provider which has a library already written would be easy to add, just would need to add the rel-me code for the provider
#
aaronpk
OpenStreetMap is already on there
#
tommorris
aaronpk: any registered OSM user can setup an OAuth app credential
#
tantek
so they just need the rel-me field on user profiles then
#
tantek
tommorris, are you able to embed an <a rel="me" href> into your profile description?
#
tommorris
just adding that to the application.
#
tantek
ah, even better
#
aaronpk
to what application?

so, we gotta get out of here in a few minutes, but with a bit of luck I'll be able to submit a patch for rel=me websites

tantek
tommorris - did you get a patch submitted for adding hCard to OSM venues?
#
tantek
is a bit lost around the OSM website code.
