tantek: do you have a login to the w3c wiki for federated social web? if so can you update my bio here? http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/federatedsocialweb/wiki/People

aaronpk - I do - and that's an interesting problem of the bulk move from of the federatedsocialweb.net wiki to W3C federatedsocialweb incubator
#
aaronpk
yea, seems less...federated to me ;)

tantek
aaronpk - I'm thinking we need a bit more structure for the http://indiewebcamp.com/Guest_List
#
tantek
to make it more explicit per person/builder:
#
aaronpk
ok, and we also have a bunch more people on plancast who want to come who aren't on the wiki
#
aaronpk
also, should we schedule specific "work session" times?
#
tantek
plancast "attending" != actual attending
#
tantek
because plancast lacks a "interested-in / maybe" setting
#
tantek
here's a first cut at columns for a table of participants:
#
tantek
name, personal URL, code/design/ux that they're using on said personal URL, and then "other info"
#
aaronpk
true. tho it will be "actual attending" if they show up on saturday ;)
#
tantek
where code/design/ux is one or more links to open source / open design projects that others can use too
#
tantek
well, we could do first-come first-serve apprentices for builders that don't have apprentices
#
tantek
also - we should get more people in here in the channel
#
aaronpk
what about "personal projects" that others can't use, like falcon?
#
aaronpk
another column for things like that? my IRC bot is in a similar boat
#
tantek
well, part of Falcon is open sourced in CASSIS
#
tantek
we don't require that 100% of your personal site be open and reusable - that's not reasonable
#
aaronpk
right, just wondering if there should be a separate column for it so people know it's ok to put down things like that
#
tantek
things like what?
#
tantek
also - the UX/flow aspects of Falcon are 100% shared
#
aaronpk
tools used to power personal sites that aren't open source, either because they are in progress or because the author doesn't want to spend time packaging it nicely
#
tantek
it's not binary
#
tantek
that's the point
#
tantek
it's ok for portions of tools to be open source and still list them as such
#
aaronpk
so the "code/design/ux" column would have some of the things listed on the Projects page?
#
tantek
it would contain anything that a) the person actively works on (builds), b) uses on their own site (self-host/dogfood), and c) shares at least part of openly
#
tantek
but yes, if it was a 100% personal tool, where no part of it is shared, then that wouldn't count in that column
#
aaronpk
I still have to figure out what to do with my IRC project. it's based on the mediawiki bot, but I added a bunch of stuff in strange ways, I'd like to make it open source but it's really awkward to use right now and I want to clean it up first
#
tantek
can you share just parts of it, like a few functions here and there?
#
tantek
I understand the clean-up problem
#
tantek
that's partially the obstacle to me sharing/releasing more Falcon code

your irc project sounds interesting - you can do a session or two on it and we can think about how to sort it out
#

OpenID redirect on login takes me back to geoloqi.org dev wiki not IWC
#
josephboyle
ok, it's just that whole iwc site has geoloqi chrome instead of iwc
