An Itch is a desired function or area of functionality that has either been recognised or is being actively worked on.

• Unscratched Itches are problem areas which are recognised, but no solid work has been done to fix them
• Itches In the process of being scratched have people actively working on them, experimental implementations and perhaps relevant previous work
• Scratched Itches are problem areas which are generally agreed to have been solved, with multiple stable real-world implementations
